My name is Kate Valentine: Opera Singer, Vocal Massage Therapist, Vocal Health Practitioner, and Founder of Valentine Voice Care.
In 2015, and in the midst of a successful career, I discovered that I had developed a vocal pathology which required surgery. It was a deeply traumatic experience at the time, but one that I am now grateful for, because it was during my own rehabilitation process that I developed a passionate interest in vocal health and longevity.
I began my new odyssey by qualifying as a Sports Massage therapist in 2017, before going niche and travelling to Switzerland to learn VoiceRelease Massage© with Luise Breyer-Aiton. I went on to study Vocal Massage, Manual Therapy and Laryngeal Manipulation with Stephen King at the renowned Voice Care Centre in London, and Manual Therapy for Voice and Swallowing Disorders with Walt Fritz, PT. I am a certified Vocal Health First Aid practitioner and dedicated to ongoing professional development so that I can meet the unique needs of professional voice users.
As well as running my own treatment spaces in Lewes, East Sussex and Glasgow, I am a proud member of the outstanding multidisciplinary team at the Voice Care Centre in London. I also manage a busy client list including English National Opera, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Scottish Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, British Youth Opera, Voces8, and The Dunedin Consort.
